WebWell, the series IS SAINTS ROW 2, best game not only gameplay wise and storywise but also freedom wise, best game on the series and the only one (also SR1) that truly quite gets the open world experience. So, yes you can jump into the series without playing it first (I did that) but you also need to play it ASAP to really get Saints Row.
